Well its been almost 1 year since I posted anything on this blog……oops!!!! Its been a wonderful and very tiring year full of adjustments. I’ll start where I left off. In my last post I mentioned that besides my family I was focusing on losing weight. This past year, I did just that. As soon as I got clearance from my Dr. (after 4 weeks post C-section) I started moving. I started lifting 5 to 6 times a week and doing cardio 4 times a week. I also cleaned up my diet and really ate clean, meaning fish, chicken, vegetables. I definitely slipped on my diet here and there, but I never missed a workout. Those first few months were really exhausting, but I got my workouts in. I gained 70lbs with Opal and I lost about 25 lbs. after I had her. After that I took 10lbs at a time. I celebrated every time I entered a new weight group (189, 179…..) By 7 months I had lost all the weight. I’m not focusing on losing weight at the moment, I’m just focusing on building muscle.
So that’s my weight loss journey in a nutshell. I honestly couldn’t be happier right now, and I’m pretty damn proud of myself for pushing through and sticking with it. Anyway, our little Opal is 1 today and I thought it was a good time for an update!!!
(The first picture was at 2 months, 3 months, and 4.5 months postpartum. The second picture was 4 days vs. 6 months postpartum. The third picture was my 9 months in, 9 months out picture)
This picture was taken on week 40 of my pregnancy! The next day I went in for my fourth c section. I know what you are thinking…..yes I get HUGE!!!
….but its obviously well worth it, because we had a beautiful healthy baby girl!!!!! 4th and FINAL!!!!!
Its been 6 weeks since our sweet little Opal joined us.
These were taken today. My focus now (besides taking care of my family) is losing my baby weight. I got cleared for exercise 2 weeks ago. I’m starting out slow and each day I feel a little bit more like myself. I have a long way to go but I’ll get back to “normal” soon enough!!!
Before reading I’m just stating the obvious: This is not my body right now.
I use to not bother looking at jeans when I went to Goodwill, but since they started hanging them like this (at least in Indiana), it makes it so much easier. I can see the brands now, and by my age I know what brands and cuts look best on me. Yes, 4 racks of jeans can be overwhelming, but so worth it when you find a pair. The jeans in Indiana are $6.99 so a little hunting for a great pair is totally worth it!
Thrifted Gap Perfect Boot. They currently sell them for $69
Thrifted Express Jeans. Express jeans can run from $79-$118
